HOT OFF THE PRESS!

These CDs and DVDS really are hot of the printers press! When we read about Grimethorpe’s plans to release a new CD and DVD before their upcoming Australia tour we contacted them to get our order in! We had an email on Friday to say they are ready to be released so they will be with us very soon … exciting!

With their Australia tour looming what better time to buy. If you are heading over to Australia to watch them … lucky you. Not going? ….. Don’t worry if you can’t make the trip over you can listen to and watch the band from the comfort of your own armchair.

Thanks Papakura RSA Brass

Last month I was invited to feature at Papakura RSA Brass’ Anzac Salute Concert.

The sun came out for what turned out to be a great afternoon of music to pay tribute to New Zealand’s service people past and present. What a loyal supporter base this band have who turned out in force for this concert to pretty much fill the Hawkins Theatre.

I had a great time performing with the band and spending some time with the players in the weeks leading up to the concert where I attended some of their rehearsals.

Many thanks to conductor, Ian Levien and the band for the warm welcome.

No doubt emails will be flying round the country as we speak with ‘have you seen the announcement’ :-) and everyone will no doubt be working out what they have in their libraries or not as the case may be and I’m sure there will be lots of chatter around NZ band rooms this week about pieces … who likes what and who has played what before etc etc but the road to contest planning starts now folks :-)

SB Music Launch New Website

Welcome to our new website!

We decided that the SB Music website was overdue a revamp. Our old site was originally built in the eighties and although served its purpose well over the years it was time for a change.

The sheet music side of the business has grown year on year so we decided to build an online shop focussed around sheet music where our customers could browse for brass sheet music, CDs and DVDs and buy them all online.

We also wanted to make sure we had lots of music titles in our catalogue when our site went live so musicians could see the wide variety of brass sheet music available. To this end we have spent the last few months liaising with our suppliers to gather sheet music listings then manually catalogue it on our site in easy searching fields to make your life easier.

Although we already have over 1000 pieces of music listed online, there will be pieces we don’t have yet, please bear with us each piece is manually catalogued into easy search criteria so you can search for test pieces, solos, etc etc. Over time our catalogue will grow making this site a great resource for New Zealand musicians.

Dont worry if the piece you are looking isn’t on the site just contact us using the enquiry form or give us a call and we will find it for you. If it’s been written for brass and published we can usually find it as we have relationships with a vast array of publishers around the world.
